The DO’s and DON’Ts of Push ups-

Good form is SO important when you’re doing push ups. Doing them the wrong way will minimize the effect of the exercise, not to mention potentially strain your neck and wrists.

If I can do these push ups in heels and a dress, you can do them in a sports bra and sneakers!

DON’Ts

  • Don’t stick your butt up in the air
  • Don’t put your hands too close together
  • Don’t strain your neck by trying to look at your toes
  • Don’t forget to breathe between each push up

DO’s

  • Do Have a flat back
  • Do look a little bit in front of you
  • Do put your hands chest length apart
  • Do put your elbows at 90 degrees
  • Do always keep your arms over your wrist

Pushup

Notice how my butt isn’t sticking up, and my elbows are over my wrists!

These may seem like a lot of steps now, but if you keep practicing the right way to do push ups  it will get you to your goal body WAY quicker- and without damaging your precious self.

All natural honey-mint tea

image

One of my best friends gave me this deliciously simple tea recipe the last time I drove up to see her in San Bernadino.

I’m NOT a big fan of tea, however I had a tickle in my throat that weekend- so she gave me this tea. She made it with leave from her freshly grown mint plant. I surprisingly enjoyed this delicate combination and had to blog about my first positive tea experience.

Tea-sperience (I’m officially making this a word.)

Unfortunately, I failed miserably at growing my own mint plant at home (my thumbs are obviously not green… they’re hot pink.) Thank our beautiful Lord that Trader Joes is just a few minutes away, and carries pre-packaged mint leaves.

Ingredients:
4-6 Mint leaves
1 cup of water
1-2 tsp of honey
1 cute cup
A warm blanket and your favorite movie!

Recipe:
Heat water, combine ingredients, wait 2 minutes for flavors to dissolve, then drink and relax!

Honey tip:
This honey-mint tea tastes the absolute best with real honey. However, I am currently out of all natural/organic honey; which I purchased from the farmers market last month (yay support your local farmers.) Until  next week’s farmers market, this artificial bear stuff will have to suffice. I recommend going out of your way to your local farmers market and getting your own real honey as well.

Try it out!
Easy, healthy and will warm your heart/mind/soul.

Brand New Kitchen Table!!

Last night, the two men in my life (my dad and my boyfriend Bryan) decided to adventure into the infinite abyss of IKEA in search of a new kitchen table. After about 30 minutes in that HUGE maze of a store, we finally found this big dark wood beautiful table!!

I am so in love with it, if I could sit there staring at the lake in my back yard and blog all day I totally would.

First Meal on new table

We just had dinner on it and I’m proud to say it was incredibly healthy. A great way to kick off a new table and the beginning of summer in a Fitspirational way 🙂

  • FRESH Corn (steamed with a bit of pepper)
  • FRESH Brussel Sprouts (steamed with a bit of honey and pepper)
  • Home made grape juice in classy wine glasses.

This is going to be such a great summer, I can already feel it.
