Appreciate your fruit- fun vintage fruit fact!

Did you know, back in the day in New York; an ORANGE was a traditional Christmas gift?

Groceries haven’t always been stocked with delicious fruits and veggies as they are now. Oranges were grown in Florida, so it was a really big deal to get one if you lived out of state.

I think we forget how blessed we are to have constant access to nutritious natural foods. That being said,┬ámom if you’re reading this- you better not put an orange in my stocking this Christmas!

however, you can bet I’ll be thanking God for every blessed bite into a juicy piece of fruit.

P.s On a side note- only 5 months till Christmas!!! (I’m a Christmas fanatic)

Flower Edamame- a protein rich snack

image

Vegetarians listen up:

Did you know just one cup of Edamame has 17 grams of protein???? That’s more then half of my daily amount of protein for my body size!

I wish I could take credit for these beautiful flower bowls and New York plates, but unfortunately they’re not mine. My boyfriend Bryan and I visited a family friend today, and the first thing I did was practically run to the table and snap a picture of Edamame for my health blog.

If you’ve never had Edamame before, turn your computer off right now and go find some.
