How To Make a Green Smoothie! Vegetarians, this is especially for you :)

green

I really need to start making more green smoothies!

I’ve got the morning fruit smoothie routine down to a science, but I’m having a hard time getting some green veggies in there. Definitely going to use this on this morning’s smoothie. Being a life-long vegetarian, I need all the green veggies I can get.

Not to mention, I just got some AWESOME green tea lemonade from a health food store by my house that I can’t WAIT to try. It’ll be a perfect addition to a green smoothie.

I’ll post the recipe that I come up with later today 🙂

I love putting it in smoothies, shakes and salads.
I used my new protein powder that I purchased yesterday, and made more of a shake than a smoothie.

Simple Ingredients:

  • Freshly cut sweet watermelon
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Pineapple
  • Guava juice
  • Watermelon juice
  • Ice
  • 3 scoops protein powder

Blend, add a cute garnish and enjoy!

Since it’s Saturday today, I had a bit more time in the mornings then I usually do. I decided to get a bit more creative with my morning smoothies by mixing ingredients that I wouldn’t usually.

For a bit of added protein, I threw in a handful of almonds. They made the smoothie surprisingly smoother then usual, and the carrots blended together perfectly with the strawberries and apple slices.

This smoothie has an excellent variety of nutrition, and will make your taste buds smile for hours!

Ingredients:

  • Apples
  • Almonds
  • Carrots
  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • All-natural apple juice
  • Ice

Try it out and let me know what you think!

It’s another beautiful day in Sunny San Diego and I just spent 2 hours of it with my wittle yorkie Locket!

I must have burnt like 938377383 calories running around with her my back yard.

We both agree the lake is looking extra pretty today.

Locket and I are going to finish off this beautiful day with the second half of this smoothie from this morning, and some all-natural doggie treats 🙂

Today’s morning smoothie ingredients:

I am completely shocked yet again. Today I put carrots in my morning fruit smoothie, and just like yesterday with the tomatoes, I couldn’t even taste them!
Who knew eating veggies every day would be so easy. If I had known, I would have started putting veggies in my smoothies a long time ago. I’m going to challenge myself to put a new vegetable in my smoothie every day.
Tomatoes CHECK!
Carrots CHECK!

I’m going to go in search for a Farmers market in San Diego today, and pick out a vegetable for tomorrow morning’s new smoothie experiment.

I’m so excited to have added tomatoes to my fruit smoothie this morning. Growing up as such a picky eater, It’s something that I never thought I’d do.
I’m taking baby steps into the veggie+smoothie world, and only adding one type at a time.
This morning I added tomatoes to a pineapple raspberry mango smoothie, and to my surprise I couldn’t even taste them!

Adding vegetables to your smoothies, is a great way to pump up your natural nutrients for the day.

Get creative, try it out!
